Dustin articulates a visionary role for religion in serving the future of humanity. By taking a developmental perspective we can begin to see the possibility of religion as a "conveyor belt" that helps guide people along the developmental path towards integration and wholeness.

Rev. Kelly also raises important questions about the wounds that many people have experienced in relationship to religion, including some people's feeling that we society no longer needs religion. By distinguishing spirituality from religion, Dustin points out that the world's religious traditions are actually invaluable repositories for the most highly developed spiritual knowledge and practices, which belong to all of us as the Great Human Tradition.
